Gerland Stadium
Mention Gerland to anyone in Lyon and they'll think of football. With its antiquity-inspired design, it's one of the oldest stadiums in France. It was built by Tony Garnier in 1919 and was refurbished in 1998 in preparation for the World Cup. The stadium has a covered seating capacity of 41,842 and is home to the OL (Olympique Lyonnais) football club.
